To: Jake The Goose

I tend to agree that it’s not an issue that will ever be decided by a president.

However- it is a question that nominees or candidates will always be asked about.. and I disagree that it’s a false litmus test. How this questioned is answered will tell us much about a candidate’s understanding of the law as it currently stands- and his opinion of the law.

Today Rudy was asked- he answered. I expect he will not be happy with the response.

You might be right.

But,,, he has the political character to hold his position as he see it.

I just don’t hold this issue as a major decision metric.

That’s just me - I won’t try to convince anyone otherwise.

The abortion issue will hopefully be decided by the courts who will in turn throw it back to the states.

Thats where it should end. To some extent Republican pols don’t want to lose the issue. Hence we got David Souter and almost Harriet Meirs.

David Souter was wrought upon us by Warren Rudman and John Sunnou.(sp?)
