Lucky for him his parents didn’t think the same as he does about available abortions.

That`s a twofer, for abortions and, if that`s not enough, for public financing. Not good, Rudy.

"There must be public funding for abortions for poor women," Giuliani says in the speech that is posted on the video sharing site YouTube. "We cannot deny any woman the right to make her own decisions about abortion."

He's not only lost the few remaining pro-life people who supported him, but he is also starting to alienate the fiscal conservatives too. Dumb move by Rudy.

Normally, I’d just say “...but how’s he doing with the fundraising.” to address the useless p[olls this time of year.....but damn Rudy, that’s one direct position on a direct issue that just won’t go over well with the GOP primary voter.

Ya THINK?

Name a single POTUS who did anything to stop abortions?

You can’t - it has nothing to do with being President.

Awful issue - really tears at peoples hearts.

So tough to talk about with someone on the other side of whatever stance you take yourself.

It’s 100% emotion.

I hope one day we can get away from it.

Rudy is a low life POS.

He and Pelosi should run on the same ticket.

From CNN today

“Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani told CNN Wednesday he supports public funding for some abortions, a position he advocated as mayor and one that will likely put the GOP presidential candidate at odds with social conservatives in his party.”

Will any of FR's Rudybots try to defend this? Methinks not.

Julie Annie a Republican?

Using baby talk, lets ask this kid...

“Boing” means do you think Julie Annie is a Republican?

“Doh” means do you think Julie Annie will make a good POTUS?

“Bing” means do you think Julie Annie is a conservative?

Not good. Especially at this late date. I don’t entirely trust CNN, but it sounds as if he really said it.

Wondering what part of the Constitution Commandant Rudy is referring to? The tortured reasoning regarding “rights to privacy” that was used, in part, to justify Roe v. Wade?

"Ultimately, it's a constitutional right, and therefore if it's a constitutional right, ultimately, even if you do it on a state by state basis, you have to make sure people are protected," Giuliani said in an interview with CNN's Dana Bash in Florida's capital city.

Too bad Rudy ain't so unswerving in his support for the 1st, 2nd, 4th, and 10th amendments....

BTW, this statement right here ought to cast serious doubt in the minds of those who assure us that Rudy "will nominate strict constructionist judges", since it shows us what Rudy means by "strict construction", apparently. Believing that Roe v. Wade makes abortion "constitutional", and that abortion is a constitutional right is the very epitome of the "organic constitution" which you can make the Constitution mean whatever you want it to mean, instead of what the wording plainly says.

Even for people who don't particularly care about the abortion issue, Rudy's terrible view of the Constitution ought to give people pause....

“A strict constructionist judge can come to either conclusion about Roe against Wade,” he said. “They can look at it and say, ‘Wrongly decided thirty years ago, whatever it is, we’ll over turn it.’ [Or] they can look at it and say, ‘It has been the law for this period of time, therefore we are going to respect the precedent.’ Conservatives can come to that conclusion as well. I would leave it up to them. I would not have a litmus test on that.”

Either way you rule as a Supreme Court Justice on any decision is OK by Rudy. What a concept.

Well, this is certain to get him substantial numbers of democrat votes. And of course that’s what he is counting on since he now realizes that social conservative Republican voters will find someone else in the primaries and perhaps abstain from voting the presidential spot on election day.

Giuliani should read the Constitution before he takes any more oaths of office. However, he will get no such opportunity from me with that position.

JEEZE I WONDER WHY THIS WAS LEFT OUT OF THE POST?

But the presidential candidate reiterated his personal opposition to the practice.

"I'm in the same position now that I was 12 years ago when I ran for mayor -- which is, personally opposed to abortion, don't like it, hate it, would advise that woman to have an adoption rather than abortion, hope to find the money for it," he said. "But it is your choice, an individual right. You get to make that choice, and I don't think society should be putting you in jail." Giuliani also vowed to appoint conservative judges to the bench, though denied such a promise was a "wink and a nod" to conservatives in support of overturning Roe v. Wade, the landmark Supreme Court decision on abortion. "A strict constructionist judge can come to either conclusion about Roe against Wade," he said. "They can look at it and say, 'Wrongly decided thirty years ago, whatever it is, we'll over turn it.' [Or] they can look at it and say, 'It has been the law for this period of time, therefore we are going to respect the precedent.' Conservatives can come to that conclusion as well. It needs to stop being about the ‘woman’ and become about the ‘baby’. This murder of our little children is out of control. And to call it a ‘constitutional right’??? Makes me sick.
