There’s no “yes, but.” That’s exactly the point.
Answer the question: Do they? Do you see anybody from the Savage threads polluting Rush, Hannity, etc. threads?
Correct me if I’m wrong, but I’ve lurked those threads and I have yet to see a tenth of the thread pollution on those threads.
Does Savage criticize Rush and Hannity? Yes. Is it deserved? Sometimes yes, sometimes no.
Not saying you’re not entitled to your opinion. Just that it ends when it becomes so boorish it essentially hijacks the thread.

You’re missing the fundamental difference between Conservatism and Liberalism: Conservatism does NOT demand strict, orthodox adherence to ALL of its tenets. Some of us here are fiscal conservatives, others are social.
Savage is an independent conservative—probably more reactionary than most of us here (or at least what most of us will admit). But he’s still a conservative nonetheless. And trashing him does nothing but make us look like a bunch of adolescent fools.
That said, should he tone down his rhetoric? I’ll let other people be the judge.

Now, if you can grasp this concept, it may help you understand.
Part of Wiener's appeal is hatred towards other Talkers. He routinely attacks icons of the Conservative movement such as Rush Limbaugh and the GOP as a whole. FreeRepublic is a Conservative website. As a consequence, Freepers will naturally attack back.
