Whether we are cooling or warming is determined by when you begin measuring. Over the last 12,000 years, there has been warming. If you go back further, say to day 1, we have been on a cooling trend. It only matters what argument you wish to make and who benefits from backing any particular point of view.
It also helps if "researchers" include ALL the data available, not cherry pick what suits their argument.
