The Green Pine radar system identifies the incoming Iranian Shihab-4 ballistic missile moments after it is launched. With only minutes to spare, sirens wail throughout the country, sending the public into bomb shelters, while the Arrow ballistic missile defense system is automatically activated and an interceptor is launched from Palmahim air force base just north of Ashdod. Reaching speeds of up to Mach 7, the missile intercepts the Shihab outside the stratosphere after less than 60 seconds, thus preventing a nuclear attack.

Sorry, but according to the Democrats and Liberals world wide, this cannot work and $$ should not be spent on researching it, let alone building one.

I thought this was an interesting paragraph:

With Military Intelligence predicting that diplomatic efforts to stop Teheran's race for the bomb will ultimately fail, senior defense officials believe that only a military strike will succeed in stopping or maybe even in just stalling the Iranian nuclear program. Some even believe that the strike should take place at the earliest possible opportunity. What is for sure is that if Iran's nuclear installations are bombed - by Israel or the US - Teheran would respond by firing its long-range Shihab missiles at Israel.

I love how he makes a point to say “Iran AND Syria”...

To those who know, that means a lot...And is an accurate assessment of the threat...

Now to go to Google Maps/Earth and take a look at the launch site...And start researching Mr. Herzog...

But...

Sometimes I really have to wonder about the intelligence of the press...

Hopefully its a pseudonym, and the location of the Arrrow System launchsite is not that easy to find...

Yes, our deployed Ohio class ballistic missile submarine fleet can be located at www.here-we-are.com, you can even email a sailor and chat with them live if you like...Isn’t that great!

Sometimes its ok to illustrate the absured, by being absured...

Question: During the Gulf war, Iraq was sending Russian scud missiles raining upon Israel. The Israeli missile defense system downed a lot of them but several got through but didn’t cause any major damage if my memory serves correctly. Was Arieh Herzog in charge of that too?
