His admission that he would let his wife sit in, and comment on, cabinet meetings hurt him with the more conservative voter(as if his social views did not do that).
His wife's history with the company that used live dogs to demonstrate its's stapling device, killed any chances he had with the moderates and the Liberals.
Of course the Rudy lapdogs will deny it, but then they are lapdogs after all.

Excellent point——we have to remember Rudy has two faces: one side speaks liberal, the other side tries to speak conservative (and usually fails).

I think Rudy’s comments on letting his wife sit in on Cabinet meetings turned of more than just the “more conservatives”.
IMHO, most American’s are voting for a President not a tag-team. I would have considered voting for Rudy until I read his lips on this one.
We the people of the United States elect a President, not his wife.
