Assuming you're entirely correct... there remains one niggling, minor detail:
Fred Thompson ain't running. He hasn't even formed an "exploratory" committee. And his biggest fund-raiser is already wedded to Romney. Will he run? He might. Maybe today... maybe tomorrow... maybe the next day... but he's gonna hafta run eventually, or else -- he ain't running.
Who's left? Duncan Hunter is a guy with an excellent position paper but no spark. Rudy's got fireworks but no conservatism. Romney's a grab-bag. McCain's constantly constipated. Brownback's for surrender, Hagel?????? oh please.......
You left out the guy who's already leaving Brownback, Hagel, and all the other 1-Percenters behind.
The one guy who's already running 4th amongst Declared GOP Candidates after Rudy, McCain, and Romney.
The one guy who was a "Reagan Republican" long before being a Reagan Republican was Cool:
RON PAUL.
Clinton, Giuliani lead in national polling (RON PAUL NOW UP TO 6% amongst Republican Women!)
I'm voting for former Vietnam Combat Flight Surgeon, and Leader of Ronald Reagan's Electoral Delegation from Texas: In 2008, I'm Voting for RON PAUL! |
Fred Thompson ain't running. He hasn't even formed an "exploratory" committee.
He said he'll decide by June. That allows him to do all kinds of things in the meantime, like guest-hosting the largest-audience radio show in the United States (Paul Harvey). Thompson knows success is not possible without name-recognition. Ron Paul thinks he can win with a position paper, a military record, and a smile. He's naive. Politics ain't canasta.
You get name-recognition by appearing before millions or getting yourself elected to a high-profile office. So what is Paul's plan to get name recognition, and why do you think he'll be good at it?
