One American jihadi pleads guilty, the other pleads not guilty

Snip: Abujihaad was charged with providing material support to terrorists with intent to kill U.S. citizens and disclosing classified information relating to the national defense.

Abujihaad is charged in the same case as Babar Ahmad, a British computer specialist arrested in 2004 and accused of running Web sites to raise money for terrorism. Ahmad is to be extradited to the U.S.

The IRI and The West

ElBaradei, himself from a Muslim country, warns that terrorist groups could gain access to nuclear weapons. Nuclear weapons may be built in appropriate devices for jihadi attacks.

Bali bombing mastermind escapes raid

Snip: Isnilon Hapilon, one of the heads of Abu Sayyaf, the Philippines' fiercest militant group, and Umar Patek, believed to have planned the Indonesian resort island attack that killed more than 200, including 88 Australians, fled their camp on Jolo, 950km south of Manila.

Islamic terrorists being stroked to death

Snip: In an unusual move, police released details of documents seized in a raid last month, which were the result of interrogations of recently arrested Islamic terrorists. The seized documents included an organization chart of terror organization Jemaah Islamiah. The documents contained handwriting of known Islamic terrorists. The charts showed the changes that have taken place in Jemaah Islamiah over the last few years. Jemaah Islamiah has reconstituted itself in the face of many leaders getting arrested. The terrorist organization, however, appears more formidable on paper, than in reality.

Using strictly lawful means we have been involved in removing over a thousand jihadi websites from the internet, in many cases permanently. Using unlawful means jihadis have inconvenienced us on two occasions, without any significant impact on our efforts. The second such event happened this Friday, when person or persons using the name ‘Abu Syf3r’ defaced two pages on two of the domains of the Internet Haganah project, located on a server in the United States.

We’d like to thank everyone who

a: reported to us the attack on the two domains, and then

b: held off on blogging about it in order to allow the investigation to begin in relative peace and quiet.

The investigators - being none too happy with having to work on the weekend - particularly appreciated that. As for security, we have ten domain names associated with this project, and each domain is hosted on one or more servers. The system we use is designed to allow the work continue even under circumstances such as this. The account that was compromised will be terminated and has already been replaced by two others. Reports of “the fall of Internet Haganah” are highly exaggerated.
