It's the same logic either way. If a cop misuses his weapon, whether it be a flashlight or a service revolver, it is the cop who is at fault and should be dealt with accordingly. But, the gun grabbers are now flashlight grabbers, I guess.
There was a local cop known as "Motorola Man" for his creative use of the department-issued radio.
