Foreman did't participate in the McCarthy hearings, which took place in the Senate beginning in 1953. He was summoned to testify before the House Committee on Un-American Activities, headed by Rep. John Wood (D-Ga.) in 1951. McCarthy's Committee on Government Operations never investigated Hollywood.
