My yorkie has been sick the last 2 days (vomiting, letharic, not eating). But, he did not eat anything from the list. He eats Science Diet dry, but I did feed him 1/2 pouch Pedigree (gravy with meat) as a treat about a day this started up.

Can you tell me if you fed your dog something from the list? Thx. Hope your pup is feeling better soon.

Science Diet for cats kibble was added to the recall this afternoon. I know people trust it, because vets sell it, but Science Diet is not the best food. Unfortunately, far from it.

The vets sell it because Science Diet and Purina are the two major companies who actually give them their very limited education in nutrition and they also give out a lot of scholarships. Science Diet contains BHA, BHT and Ethioxin. Yorkies being so small could possibly be more rapidly affected, but many large dogs, many who did not eat canned, have become very ill or worse since this took place.

One thing the news is not sharing, Menu Foods actually knew they had a problem long before it was announced in the USA and they actually put out a release that said "not for distribution in the US. I guess they were worried about stock prices or something, but I find that unconsionable.

My 2 dogs normally eat the dry Pedigree or Iams, I keep in it in a huge tub and its toward the bottom so there is a little bit of a mix of it in there. I am calling the vet in the morning as the oldest is still vomiting a little bit.
