Obviously not as extreme as this but I've observed that some people live to eat and others eat to live.
I'm one of the latter. I could care less and it it wasn't necessary for survival I wouldn't bother to eat. When the wife is gone it's not unusual for me to to suddenly realize that I haven't eaten for 24 hours.
