Give me old fashion C-rations. After you eat the stuff, you feel stuffed. Everything is absorbed by the body, and after several days you get your first BM and it comes out like a small rock. MRE are too light and have a 5 year shelf life. C rats come in a sealed can with a 25 to 30 year shelf life. Empty metal can has many great field uses.

C rats come in a sealed can with a 25 to 30 year shelf life.In the early 80s we were issued C-Rats that were dated in the late 50s. We'd try to snag a case to toss under a bunk back in the barracks for those late night munchies.

Give me old fashion C-rations. After you eat the stuff, you feel stuffed.I agree. Charlie Rats had about 3000 calories per pack. I was the only guy who liked the ham and lima beans, so it was no problem to find someone to take my turkey loaf in exchange for ham and mutha f'ers.
