"Authority is a damper on freedom that is a necessary evil because of the evil of humanity. It has nothing to do with freedom, except that it guarantees that our freedom will be constrained such that it doesn't interfere with others."Basically the same thing that Rudy said, except that since you sad it, it sounds better to you.
Your freedom will be taken from you much faster in a place where LAWFUL AUTHORITY (Rudy's words) is not a recognized concept, than in a place where LAWFUL AUTHORITY is granted, at the consent of the governed, to act as a damper on unchecked freedom/behavior/actions of the population at large (anarchy).
"Those who enjoy using their power over people, like Rudy, "
hehehe...

Government is necessary to secure freedom, so the lawful authority granted to government to infringe on our infinite rights via the willingness of the people of the country to cede to that lawful authority entity that we ourselves created, is the thread that holds a society together, and allows it to prosper.
Now, you ask whether Giuliani is a good candidate or not...
The Office of The President heads the Executive Branch of our government, the branch whose primary functions are to defend the nation, and to enforce our laws.
I believe that he will carry the war on Islamic terrorism to them, and he has shown not only willingness, but effectiveness in the enforcement of laws.
So yes, I think that he is a good candidate for the Office of the President.
