One would think so, but with Olmert as PM, who knows? And even if Israel does retaliate quickly, all it takes is one nuke to slip through to take out Tel Aviv.

Isreal is too small an area for this tactic.. MADD tactics is the only way.. Isreal has nukes too.. They need to make it known.. Nuke Isreal and every muslim capital from Damascus to Pakistan will become a parking lot....

Discussing the Second Lebanon War, Herzog said a missile defense system that was effective against the short-range Katyusha ... could have changed the outcome in Israel's favor.A very important point and I recall discussions of this on FR last summer. Just hoping and praying that Israel has learned from this experience and is prioritizing the development of such a system.

The fact that one missile with either nukes or bio/chemical weapons might get through would make the Israelis wonder if this is the real answer.Yep. Anyone in the Air Defense community will tell you there are always "leakers" who will slip through the crack. The (current) Israeli Government is delusional if they believe this.
