You know, you're right. I, too, have seen them weave their "legalize pot" nonsense into all of those subjects. LOL

Well, there are other drugs [say, highly addictive fentanyl anesthetics] which are permitted for medical use, but under very strict controls. To an extent the cancer patients are concened, permitting cannabinoids medical use on them under similar control conditions would not subvert the Republic or turn it into a drug junkie colony. Indeed, one could argue that with sufficiently strong control regime anything can be used.

Someone in my realm of life was one of the productful occasional types, had kids, now he has one less kid because in my opinion, they took their eye of the ball and left a door open for a predator. Too interested in hanging on to adolescent ways, partying, whats it going to hurt? kids are sleeping right? and not enough keeping an eye on their family. Controversial view perhaps I have, so be it.

I think it can keep people in a perpetual adolescence, which I suppose is fine, unless your raising a family.
Grow up I say to them. Let go of childish things.

Medical? fine, but I want a actual doctor to prescribe it and the active ingrediants delivered in the best medical way, and it be produced precisely by a proper company.

1% is called HEMP.

We in SE Wisconsin call that "Walworth County ditch". It'll give you a sore throat and a bad cough and that's about it. During WWII the farmers around here grew hemp to make rope for the Navy since the manila fiber from the Philippines was not available. After the war hemp was no longer cultivated but persists to this day as a hearty weed growing along many country back-roads and byways.

I always get a laugh when some city kids get busted for whacking down a couple of six foot plants and stuffing them in the trunk. The Sheriff gets credit for a "major drug bust" and the kids get to anty up to the court clerk. And so it goes...

Regards,
GtG

Sounds like they were comparing today's pot with either hemp or actual 30 year old pot.

"Last week's Independent on Sunday splashed with the headline: Cannabis - An Apology."

That same Independent article had the following to say about the new landmark Lancet article:

"New research being published in this week's Lancet will show how cannabis is more dangerous than LSD and ecstasy.

_______________________________________

They make no mention of alcohol or tobacco. Here's another article which puts that into perspective:

Study: Alcohol, tobacco worse than some illegal drugs

LONDON (AP) -- New "landmark" research finds that alcohol and tobacco are more dangerous than some illegal drugs like marijuana or Ecstasy and should be classified as such in legal systems, according to a new British study.

-snip-

Heroin and cocaine were ranked most dangerous, followed by barbiturates and street methadone. Alcohol was the fifth-most harmful drug and tobacco the ninth most harmful. Cannabis came in 11th, and near the bottom of the list was Ecstasy.

No, there's nothing controversial about being a dupe.
You're quoting Focus On The Family talking points. If you want truth instead of dogma visit the Law Enforcement Against Prohibition website.

LOL!
The drug war is the bread and butter of the law enforcement industry.

I do not like dope.

I do not like what I have seen it do to people in MY life.

I do not like how it changes people.

I think children should be raised to not do this crap, like I was. It is not that hard to do.

I do not care if it was a million cops or what pot promoters think.

The crap sucks. I have seen no good come from it unless your a cancer patient.

Ok?

You aren't the King.
If we could outlaw everything we don't like I'd send those televangelists who prey on the weak and elderly to prison.

I'm not a pot promoter. I don't smoke pot, or tobacco, but I know without a doubt that the moment you get those potheads locked away in the dungeon you'll be coming after me.
