Wade Edwards was 16 when he died, on the way to the family beach home in their home state of North Carolina, when a gust of wind swept his Jeep off the highway. Did John Edwards sue God?

I can't for the life of me understand why a single doctor in this country would be willing to get within 100 yards of any member of the Edwards family.

Bush 41 lost a child.
Did he bring it up for political traction?

Why do I get the feeling that he's playing voters as one big jury pool?

"When I die, I want to feel like Wade's death and his life helped me realize this," he said. "I want to feel like I've done everything I can to serve, whatever that turns out to be." Like sue doctors and hospitals into oblivion. He is such a parasite on society...

Why now ?
Here is the cynical view : If an ailing wife can get him a bump in fundraising and the polls, imagine what a dead son could do ?
Again, I could be completely wrong, in which case my apologies to the Breck Girl, but nothing is past Edwards.
To: Qwertrew
Possibly one reason he is talking about Wade now is....after their announcement that Elizabeth's cancer had returned...they got $500,000 in donations.

Did John Edwards sue God? No,but I'll bet he got a pretty penny from Chrysler and the County Highway Department where the accident happened.

Edwards has responded by speaking about an experience bound to bring him sympathy, humanize his campaign and focus on perseverance after tragedy. Well something has to fill the void of his substance free campaign.

Edwards campaign should be called the "Pity me Please" tour.
The silky pony is a pitiful excuse for a human being with these latest ploys for support. It's just pathetic.

A couple of more stories like this (son lost, wife with cancer) and 'ol Johnny Boy will have the sympathy vote all but sewn up.

edwards first goal should have been to get his wife EARLY treatment.
therapy delays for his political ambitions may give him 'bumps' in polls
but it is wrong.

I will sympathize with his wife having cancer. Fine. My prayers go out for her. In fact, I'm even sorry that he lost a son. That had to be tough.
BUT...
That was a long time ago, not something recent. I'm sure it hurts, fine, but why exactly does he feel the need to bring this up NOW that he's running for office? Maybe my memory's bad, but I don't recall any mention of this during the '04 campaign (the one he lost, remember that?).
Call me cynical...but it looks like he's trying to dig for the sympathy vote.
