Yes, some of us here need to learn how to 'read' UK official statements.

I meet with UK soldiers on a regular basis. No panty-waists, at all. I would *hope* that we Americans could show the resolve that Britian did during WWII under a similar level of threat.

On the post side of WWII, you do not get a feel for what the UK went through. I know very well. My family was still there.

Brits usually understate, Brit diplomats severely understate, but you better have your OED handy, as they will hand your ass to you with a velvet glove.

I don't know if this still applies, but Kipling considered Britain to be most dangerous when it was most polite.

UK has 1000+ years experience in diplomacy and espionage.

I have to think that HMG is considering the options carefully whilst weighing Parliamentary stomach for
a fight with Iran.
