Ya know, I've often wondered how much more effective President Bush would be if he would hold major press conferences to make statements like this. Maybe if he went on to Fox News or any other network news channel to make statements like this instead of his weekly radio address which virtually no one hears.

To be honest, if I didn't read articles on Free Republic, I'd never even know about these statements from the President. Does he not realize that most of his legitimate criticism of the Democrats will never reach the ears of most Americans if the MSM has anything to do with it?

The WH use of the media is, at best, pathetic.

The speech was on live TV. Too bad you missed it, I didn't!

It's a bit late for him. The Bush presidency has been a mix of success and failure.

One of those messages is the publicity side. Reagan had it, Bush II didn't. It's a shame, as this greatly factors into how both men are displayed to the public and how they will be remembered.

You are absolutely correct. My husband and I agree that when he sits on a stool in front of a crowd and speaks to the people he gets his point across. However, I am afraid it is ALMOST too late anymore. Whatever he is going to do he is going to have to do it and do it soon. He cannot continue to try and "change the tone in Washington." It cannot be done because people there dont' want it done." He needs to do what he does best for our country and that is to go out there and meet with the people. Tell the people exactly what the dem/libs are doing and why he is doing what he is doing. We're not stupid. He had better do something because I'm sick and tired of the lib/dems running all over the administration and the RINOs rolling over.

Stand up American and let your feelings be known. I wish the average citizen could get their comments out there like the losers of the sean penn crowd can. There should be a rebuttal from an ordinary citizen, mother, father, brother, sister, cousin whomever each time one of these worthless losers opens their mouths. We have as much right and know as much that our voices should be heard as well.

Imagine Meridith calling Obama a Rock Star. How stupid and silly is that? Give me a break Meridith. We don't vote for ROCK STARS for President. What a hollow thing to say. No wonder the country is headed downward. It's been going that direction for a lot of years and no one is doing anything about it. Our soldiers are dying and innocent people are b eing killed in terrorists attacks and we all still are too politically correct to stand up and speak our voices.

I'm sad and concerned for our country. One day we are gonna wake up and guess what? We'll be overrun and wonder what in the hell happened. I pray that is not the case but I am sure more than concerned at this point. I wish Joe Lieberman would do the right thing for our country and cross the aisle. He is an honest man and a man of character and I would trust him to vote his conscience and not always the party. Sad days for America foks..Very sad!
