OK, so you think Big Al is trying to squeeze the DNC for the nomination under the threat of going Green (and the Rats lose for sure)?
I'm not sure Big Al has those kind of stones...unless the Clintonistas don't really have the hold on the DNC that is perceived by many.

In 2000, Gore had the dem convention super delegates in his pocket even before the primaries started. He had no competition. When the dems realized they would lose out on all the primary media coverage for their ideology, they conjured up Sen. Bradely to enter the primaries.
Does Gore still command some of the DNC delegates over Mrs. Clinton?

I think Gore believes that, in a fair fight, he can beat Hillary and win the primary.
I think he's floating the threat of mutually assured destruction out there to get himself that fair shot, from the DNC and their drive-by media allies, as well as the Clinton thugs.
Of course, Gore's perception of fair is subject to his own questionable sanity. And I imagine anything short of his winning the nomination will be considered "unfair" treatment and he'll go Green anyway. Which is why Hillary might be forced to call in a marker from an old friend in Arkansas before this thing gets too out of hand.
