RIYADH, Saudi Arabia (AP) - Iran's foreign minister says Britain must admit that its 15 sailors and marines entered Iranian waters for the standoff to be resolved.

Look, its all just noise.
Iran wants war, and we are going to have to give it too them. Bush and Blair need to resign themselves to the obvious.
I saw BBC coverage the other night that gave proof that the Brits were in Iraqi waters. I was quite surprised. The Brits have been giving Blair fits about this war, but the people are still Brits, descendants of the British Empire. They have a glorious naval legacy behind them. They might have gone PC, but I still think there's a great deal of pride in most of them. And this is a down right affront. I think this may galvanize them in a way nothing else might have done.
We should stop trying to analyze what's going on inside Iran and focus on what they actually do. Iran is the power behind Hezbollah, the death of American soldiers and attacks on Israel, for example. Iran's actions amount to a declaration of war on the United States, the UK and Israel, and we should respond accordingly, by destroying their oil pipelines, refinery, and nuclear sites. This will castrate Iran.
Also, I understand the BBC had been downplaying this incident but these pictures and the video will make that impossible in the future.
I think you're right.
"Due to poor skippering by a captain of Her Majesty's fleet, our small flotilla made an inadvertent course correction that actually minimally entered Iran waters."
Then fire the captain.
I see your scenario playing out with an accelerated removal of troops from Iraq.
I think with Sadam out of the way, "nutjob" wants to appear to be the big dog on theblock so that the other neighboring countries fear him. With the turmoil in Iran he needs a diversion. Something that will unite the people. Their mutual hate of of the west fits the bill and Great Britain is today's target. jmo
That certainly would have forced the issue. If they did fire upon them, I would think they would have been allowed to fire back.
I was thinking the same thing. The Iran's are assuming they are playing chess against an opponent that has learned nothing. Hopefully they are wrong. Their queen has moved and taken protected pieces... What should we do (don't ask Jimmy Carter).
I hope you're right.
correct, though this ship was in the south-west atlantic near the falklands and nowhere near britain.
Grow a pair Tony.
Reply to their demand with a single word. "NUTS"
Ministry of Defence "On Sunday morning, 25 March, HMS CORNWALL's Lynx conducted an overflight of the merchant vessel, which was still at anchor, and once again confirmed her location on Global Positioning System equipment. Her Master confirmed that his vessel had remained at anchor since Friday, and was in Iraqi territorial waters."
Also upon reflection, while I don't think the Iranian government as a whole wants a war with the US, their president just might.
I believe the Iranians were thrilled to have the picture of her smoking. Good woman don't smoke in Iran. They wanted to server that up to their masses.
BUMP
I've been looking for the public condemnation of this act by a democrat in leadership. Anyone seen that?
I was just thinking that. Given Ahmadinejad's hands-on experience in hostage-taking and hostage-keeping, this may be the Iranian equivalent of a "Turn Back the Clock" party.
The problem with this party is that the Iranians might find the clock turned all the way back to the Stone Age before the keg is dry.
Then again, probably not.
They made her SMOKE on world television.
