Looks to me like the chances of this working are damn close to zero:

GLSEN's homosexual "Day of Silence," in which students and some supportive faculty intentionally remain silent throughout the school day to protest alleged oppression of homosexuals.

How many 16-year-olds are going to be able to keep their mouths shut for an entire school day? (If the teachers want to stay quiet, let 'em. The kids'll be better off for it.)
