Democrat Addiction to Soft Money
ChronWatch ^ | March 28, 2007 | JB Williams

The party of systemic political corruption was elected on the promise to end political corruption?

The Democrat Party is the official juggernaut of political soft money, those funds coming from often unknown institutional investors in American politics, with all sorts of allegedly illegal special interest strings attached.

So what are the chances that the party funded primarily by soft money will be the party to eliminate soft money in American politics?

Soft money now comes in several forms. Here’s the official Top Ten list of U.S. institutional political investors between 1990 and 2006, how much they invested, and with whom they invested. And you can figure out why once you know who they are.

This is just the beginning of "THE GREAT PAYDAY" that Democrats have been salivating over for years....

Hillary is passing out HUGE checks for endorsements, and the MEdia is SILENT. If that were a REPUBLICAN doing that, every Dem in Congress would be screaming violently at every TV Camera in America...

HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS are going to be passed out for the 2008 elections, (Much of it from OVERSEAS, via Democrat 527's) and Democrats are all lining up behind Hillary for thier pice of the pie...

You don't think all those Limo's waterfront mansions, and private jets come CHEAP, do you?

Limo-Liberals ARE to fat cat rich and powerful in America today... Sadly, these con artists know their "mark(s)" well.

1) The manufactured perpetual victim class.
2) The manipulated proletariat class.
3) The "it's all about me" class.
4) The "not impressed by facts" class.
5) The "what can my country do for me" class.
6) The "America is the evil empire" class.

Liberals know exactly who to pander to and they know exactly how to pander to each them.

And no career in America is more profitable today...

Hate to admit it, but the Democrats have done a pretty good job of whitewashing their prodigious record of corruption and sleazy fund-raising. Of course this is where it's very helpful to have the MSM in one's pocket.

This isn't actually what soft money is at all. What a crock of shit.

The link you posted shows the exact same list of top soft money donors. So why is this article wrong?

Well first, soft money is not strictly corporate money. An individual can contribute as much soft money as they want. Also, contributors to soft money have been recorded for more than 10 years now. So "those funds coming from often unknown institutional investors in American politics" is wrong on two fronts, both the nature of soft money and the transparency of the system.

Second, as a matter of simple logic, we know that just because the top ten (or 20 or 100) investors donated primarily to democrats does not mean that most soft money was donated to republicans. Especially in a system with hundreds of thousands of donators making very substantial contributions.

The fact is, according to the very same website the author of the original item got his facts from, republicans have received more soft money than democrats every year since soft money reporting began. To reiterate, see the graphs here: http://www.opensecrets.org/softmoney/softglance.asp

Nowhere in this article does it say that soft money is only corporate money. Don't you think 527's are soft money?

The Rats get most of their funding from soft money.

Democrats get a larger percentage of their funding from soft money. Republicans get a larger dollar amount of soft money than Democrats.
