The Model of 1927A1 Thompson Semi-Automatic Carbine is the version made by Auto-Ordnance of West Hurley, New York, for the civilian gun market from 1974 to 1999. The barrel length of a 1927A1 is 16.5 inch.

Mine is a Fully Automatic Model 1928 marked "Property of US Navy." The barrel length is 10.5 inches...

Which proves longer is not always better!

When I get really, really, rich, I'm going to get a mint-condition Colt-made 1921 Thompson, along with a Mint Colt-made 1918 BAR. (And a lot of other fantasy stuff)
