A Fred Thompson presidential run is looking more and more likely, says DC columnist and political insider Robert D. Novak:
Close friends of Fred Thompson say his wife Jeri is urging him to take the plunge later this year and run for the Republican presidential nomination.
The former senator from Tennessee and current actor on "Law & Order," in private conversation, makes it clear that he is seriously interested in launching a candidacy that has attracted extraordinary attention over the last two weeks. However, he does not plan to announce his candidacy in the immediate future.
The major rap against Thompson is that he was not a hard worker during his eight years in the Senate. His friends respond that this is an easily correctable error and that the same complaint was made about Ronald Reagan before he ran for president.
Thompson's wife is Jeri Kehn, was a political media consultant at the Verner, Liipfert, Bernhard, and McPherson law firm in Washington, D.C., when they married in 2002. She also previously worked for the Senate Republican Conference and the Republican National Committee.
And, like I said, don't make obviously goading posts if you are going to make such a request. You only called the mods when you got the worst of your own flame war. You start flame wars and then ask the mods to put them out when they turn on you.
stop posting to me.
U got it freddie, she gets my vote for 1st Lady
Stop making goading posts and I will. If I see you doing such, I will post to you again and call you on it. Anyone who equates Fred marrying a 36-year-old woman with pedophilia has a lot of nerve crying to the moderators for protection.
stop posting to me.
Associates said the senator was deeply affected when his daughter, Elizabeth "Betsy" Thompson Panici, 38, died January 30 after a heart attack. Senate sources said Thompson started telling colleagues of his retirement plans a few days ago, and he told President Bush this week.
Bush praised Thompson -- who was once on Bush's short list of potential vice presidential candidates -- for serving "the people of Tennessee with honor, distinction, and class." http://archives.cnn.com/2002/ALLPOLITICS/03/08/thompson

Sorry I'm link chalanged.
Thanks that all I was really getting people to see. I live im LA, wives like that are dime a dozen here. However they are not llike that in Middle America.
All this couple has done for the last several years is go to uber-liberal elitists parties (Entertainment Weekly gala's, Oscars, etc). They are socialites who want to be "Presidential". It wont set well with some people.
Good Luck to them. I have nothing against either of them. I hope the best man wins. I really do.
But the jokes and snarky comments I have posted are nothing to what a national campaign will do to them. His supporters better start preparing for it.
Anyway I was just wondering. Funny though it only happened on this thread
hey, i just got the same thing. some funky website interference.
This is when a man needs to listen to his wife.
I think she can be an asset to Fred. It sounds as if she had a legitimate career and is an intelligent, professional woman. That's all very good. She just needs to look the part of First Lady more. That's all.
It would be fun to have the little girl, Hayden, in the WH. People will like that (I think?).
I got the interference too. Mine said washingtonlife.com. Did yours?
Hey, wagglebee, it's happening over here, too.
I was told this is an open forum. If you post, expect a reply. It's a whole other story if someone does it via freepmail, but any post on open forum is a request for replies by any and all active freepers in good standing. Especially it' it's taunting by an ignorant young liberal fool like is occurring here.
It looks like beansox is gone.
How can you claim she's a golddigger with a resume like "Jeri Kehn was a political media consultant at the Verner, Liipfert, Bernhard, and McPherson law firm in Washington, D.C. She also worked for the Senate Republican Conference and the Republican National Committee"?
Only if you have a clear objective with the distortion!
It'll be back.
It doesn't matter one way or the other. They're like mosquitoes, you smack one and a dozen more swarm over.
and as for the website i think it was something like washingtonlife also!
They were 53 and 29 when they met. They married 6 years later, in 2002.
