Seymour Hersh of The New Yorker has been an outspoken critic of the Bush administration and the war in Iraq for many years. This certainly should come as no surprise to folks familiar with his name, his work, and his style of dangerously activist journalism.
On March 11, Hersh added a new wrinkle to his résumé by not only doing a radio interview with the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting, but also actually discussing what he believes is the American military strategy towards Iran including what he called "an intensive planning for an air strike" and "some sort of on the ground operation."
I kid you not.
Anybody remember when he said Bush would invade Iran in 2005? Boy that war sure was fun!
Any 'source' that would talk to Sy Hersh doesn't know since by definition speaking with Sy Hersh would be a career ender. I would bet that Hersh speaks with retired General Officers who served primarily under Clinton. These former officers would be out-of-the-loop and anything that they would have to say would be a guess -- an educated guess -- but a guess nonetheless.
Hersh is a piece of crap, but if anyone does`nt know that air power would be used against Iran if we go the military route, they must be living in a cave on Mars.
