Why do you assume God did it? God gave man dominion over the earth and his body. Man can ask God for help, but God has given man free will.

zarf, God has demonstrated that he doesn't stop people from dying in horrible ways. He didn't lift a finger for Jessica Lunsford, who was actually about as Christian of a kid as you could find-- not that being a Christian should be required to be spared from dying the way she did. It's hard to say what God actually does in this life other than destroy things (flooding the earth, slaughtering Israelite enemies and their families, etc.). God does give people the Holy Spirit as a gift in this life, though, even though that's not really a tangible gift.

Job said "Shall we receive good at the hand of God, and shall we not receive evil [at the hand of God]?" God is unable to only do good. He does good sometimes, and evil sometimes (even if it's by allowing Satan to do evil-- it's all really the same thing because the buck stops with God).

He wasn't even able to stop a war from happening in heaven ("And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels..."), so you shouldn't have such high expectations for God. By the way, God didn't even see fit to give the traitor in his midst and his respective army the "death penalty" (and the US has always viewed treason as cause for death).

Also, you could say that any answering of prayer by God is in violation to total free will.

Verses like "Ask, and it shall be given to you; seek, and you shall find; knock, and it shall be opened to you" and "If you then being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more shall your Heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him?" don't refer to tangible things, but mostly things once you're dead. God isn't a genie who grants wishes.

Looks like you choose to blame God because we live on earth and not in heaven.

All men will die - no matter how good or bad they have been.

Did He stop His own Son from dying a horrible death? No, he created the plan to give His Son as the perfect sacrifice for man who could never be perfect enough to live with God. All man is required to do for this eternal gift is to accept Jesus, repent of his sins and be baptised for the remission of those sins and follow Him in this life. Jesus' blood pays the price for man and allows man to choose to serve Him and have eternal life.

Yet, man comes along and tries to create God in his view, chastises God if He does not give per each and every request.

Well, this is not heaven. That will happen in Heaven but this is earth and on earth there is sickness, death, sorrow and the works of evil, sin as well as the works of God.

Each of us have prayers that were not answered, each of us have had deaths we did not wish, but we also each had the availibility of Jesus to intercede for us with the Father, to provide comfort and strength to get through our days.

God never - ever - willed a death such as Jessica endured - but man, choosing to follow evil and flaunt his own way to torture and kill did.

Evil is loosed in this world and evil is responsible for the horrors we rail against - not God.

And, we have the right to give our requests to God, but it is foolish to expect that each and everytime we give a shopping list to God, He is there merely to grant our wishes. God is the Creator, God has the plan and God will grant prayers or not, He will hear them or not, but we are still His if we choose to follow His plan.

And, just what is the alternative? To deny God? To deny Jesus and follow the devil? And just what does that gain one.
