The latest USA Today/Gallup poll, conducted Friday through Sunday, on the presidential race is out, and it's a humdinger. It's hard to say what the headline even is. Here are a few tries, though:
* Romney's support drops to within the margin of error of not existing (that's 3% support in a poll where the margin of error is 3%).
* Giuliani's support drops 13 percentage points since the last USA Today/ Gallup poll, March 2-4 (that's gotta hurt).
* Fred Thompson (not running, by the way) is now the No. 3 in the GOP field, at 12%.

Can you link to that? I think Giuliani may be too conservative to be viable in November '08.
I am very surprised at the fast fade that seems to be happening with Mitt Romney...I thought he would prove to be a much stronger candidate across the spectrum.
For me, much better Fred than Mitt or Rudy.
I still want to see a good comparison between Fred and Newt's positions.

Probably similar, but Gingrich is more likely to try and come up with a private sector, gov't funded solution to something where Fred says "just keep gov't out of it altogether." Just my $0.02.

If Thompson is the nominee, it will be a pure Red State/Blue State contest again and we will be lucky to get 280 electoral votes. Aren't conservatives tired of lefties constantly whining about "stolen elections" coming down to one state?
I want a LANDSLIDE for Republicans, and only Rudy could do that. I want to win blue states so the morons bashing the South and Rocky Mountain region will shut up and die (figuratively).
