WASHINGTON Monica Goodling, a senior Justice Department official involved in the firings of federal prosecutors, will refuse to answer questions at upcoming Senate hearings, citing Fifth Amendment protection against self-incrimination, her lawyer said Monday.
"The potential for legal jeopardy for Ms. Goodling from even her most truthful and accurate testimony under these circumstances is very real," said the lawyer, John Dowd.
"One need look no further than the recent circumstances and proceedings involving Lewis Libby," he said, a reference to the recent conviction of Vice President Dick Cheney's former chief of staff in the CIA leak case.

Every one of Pres. Bush's aides should refuse to testify under oath from now till the end of the administration's tenures for this reason.

Interesting, someone who knows how to deal with Rats.
Next, if Monica is ordered to testify by anyone in the administration, she should do exactly the same, and show up the wussie boys for what they are. If the Rats push it all the way to subpoena and oath, force them to grant immunity and then answer every question with "I don't recall".

I would claim the fifth amendment when asked my name. Those smarmy (to quote Sean Penn) don't deserve a civil answer.

Yep. Libby proved what happens when you try to honestly answer questions from the Dems. You screw up once and answer one irrelevant question incorrectly and you go to jail. I would take the 5th in this environment too.
To: Momoka
I liked the guy who said "You know who else pled the fifth? Hitler." When did Hitler take the 5th?
To: ricks_place
Yes, from now on both Republicans and Democrats will take the 5th whenever being compelled to speak to Congress.
That will be the Best For Everybody.
