Moscow, March 22, Interfax - The future of Europe depends on Russia's attitude toward the status of Kosovo and Metohija, head of the Serbian Church diocese in Montenegro Metropolitan Amfilohije said in answer to questions from viewers of the Orthodox television channel Soyuz.
"We hope and pray the Lord for Russia to speak up at the UN Security Council and say 'no' [to the independence of Kosovo]. That would be enough, and that 'no' would save our people and the Orthodox religion in the Balkans. It would be a token of a genuine and balanced solution of the problem, which is vital for the future of our people and whole of Europe," he said.
"The Russian Orthodox people have never betrayed their brothers," said the Metropolitan, adding that Nicholas II supported Serbia in its conflict with Austro-Hungary in 1914.
"He got involved in that war to protect Serbia and Montenegro. Many think that his decision caused the October Revolution tragedy in Russia. If the tsar and the Russian kingdom had stayed aside from the European battle, the history would have taken a different turn," he said.
The MSM hasn't the nerve to report how close we came to WW III when The War Hero ordered the NATO Commander to have the British attack the Russians at Pristina Airport.
