What the heck is a "rape kit"? Is that something that Al Sharpton hands out to help "victims" go after rich white boys?
A "rape kit" is a common parlance term for the evidence collected during a sexual assault examination.
Many years ago rapes were rarely reported - except when there was trauma - and evidence was not gathered in a standardized manner. As a result many rapists were not prosecuted and if they were they got off for lack of evidence. The rape kit, and standardized protocol, changed that situation.
