Do you think this is very serious Mr. Blair ? Seriously ?
Demand their return immediately, give the Persians 48 hours to comply and if they do not comply, declare war.

If Blair was one of the 15, he would certainly think it was a lot more than just serious.

Sir Winston Churchill:
"You have chosen dishonor over war. You shall have both."
Mr. Blair?
Contemplate the wise words of Sir Winston before you even THINK of appeasing those Islamofascists in Tehran.
WWWD?
WWMD?

Allowing for British understatement, I'd guess that carriers are being deployed.

Yes Mr. Blair- It is an act of war. I hope you will do something about it. If you do I am sure the United States will be behind you!

"Seriously though, did you hear the latest about Iran capturing those British sailors? The situation has gone from 'serious' to 'extremely serious', and I understand that Britain is really going to get tough now and actually cross Iran off their Christmas card list next year..."
To: malamute
"Blair calls Iran capture of sailors very serious" Funny, he didn't think it was serious enough to shoot at the Iranian boats when he had the chance to.
To: malamute
If the brits had fired on those ships taking their sailors and sunk a couple, they'd have had the initiative. Now the iranians do and the Brits are behind the 8-ball.

So many Europeans, really almost as much of the Right as the Left, have all been convinced that the real enemy in the world today is Bush. When Israel was routing the mad mullah's of Iran's proxy army named Hezbollah and about to destroy it, these moral beacons came to the rescue in 2006. Iran won again and learned how easy it was to push the West around. When Iran is caught killing Iraqis, Americans and coalition forces in Iraq, the sophisticated men of Europe claim the neo-Cons and Bush are trying to incite another war. When Iran's savage leadership threatens to annihilate Israel with nuclear weapons, the European pontificaters, in full blown worldly mode, call for negotiations and reason with the terrorists in Tehran. What the Iranians are doing blatantly and brazenly now is no different than what they've been doing for nearly 30 years. The Democrats tie Bush's hands for their own political advantage and give the mullahs a sense that they've got a green light to act out their barbaric ways. The MSM seeks to spread benighted cynicism about the president during a time of war with our lowbrow comics, like Leno, Letterman and others reinforcing the dolts eye view of Bush. Why would Iran think Blair can act or that Bush will be able to either? The West has suffered a huge self-inflicted wound vice a vie Iran for a long time. Russia sells them missiles that kill Israelis civilians and soldiers. Russia sell Iran an air defense system. Iran funds Syria to cause trouble for the West in Lebanon and Iraq.
The answer is obvious but risky. Iran's military infrastructure and military power must be destroyed. All of its air planes, missiles, ammunition depots, ships, training camps, nuclear research facilities, military motor pools, military academies, etc., etc., until Iran poses no danger to any nation and must worry about one thing. How do they hold their own nation together. Anything short of the destruction of Iran's military is only going to delay the inevitable.
The war on terror was to be one that eliminated states that sponsor terror. Terror, however, is the essence of the Iranian state and its relations to the rest of the world.

I'd give them 24 hours to hand over the soldiers unharmed. On hour 23 I'd have bomb laden aircraft in orbit over the gulf.... Hour 25 I'd drop them a case of super glue and send a message they better get busy gluing their reactor back together.
