Assuming there ever will be any revenge. Usually this statement is merely a cover for political cowardice. Some 30 years later will still have taken NO action at all about the Iranian Hostage Crises.

Key Elements of U.N. Resolution on Iran
The U.N. Security Council imposed new sanctions on Iran over its nuclear program, expanding on sanctions approved in December. The key points of the two measures: /snip/ A call on all nations ''to exercise vigilance and restraint'' in supplying tanks, combat aircraft and other heavy weapons to Iran. An asset freeze on 15 individuals and 13 organizations and companies.

On the heels of a well-received report on Darfur by the newly revamped UN Human Rights Council, the body is in danger of having its power stripped away. The EU says, give the council more time. Cuba is leading a bid by a number of countries to strip the Human Rights Council of its power to investigate and condemn violations of human rights, a move some activists warn could jeopardize the entire UN's credibility. Calling it murder is absurd! (Preach Bob!)
On Nov. 19, 2005, United States Marines killed 24 civilians in an Iraqi town called Haditha. The dead included men, women and children. This past December, four Marines were charged with murder. But was it murder? Let's examine the events that led up to that terrible day.

All Kroger stores in Greater Cincinnati were closed for several hours Friday night and into this morning because of a computer glitch related to the nationwide pet-food recall. Affected stores were located in Atlanta, Columbus, Detroit, Dayton, Indianapolis, Memphis and Little Rock...

Iran crisis grows:
http://www.atlargely.com/2007/03/iran_here_we_go.html
Guess OpFor was right in the last paragraph:
If theres one thing Iran knows how to do, its take hostages. However, the worlds a different place than it was in 1979 and we have 130,000 troops parked next door. These days, the capture of troops-as-hostages is usually a casus belli (see Israel last summer with the initiation of a hot war with Hamas and Hizballah.)
It will be interesting to see how this plays out. Despite their domestic wobbly-ness, I expect the Brits to play hardball on this. We should play hardball too.
I also expect the anti-war crowd to forward the following premises: (1) the captured sailors were on a secret mission to attack Iran, which was only acting in self-defense when it graciously subdued them. (2) We should just do a hostage trade with the Iranians, trading captured Iranians in Iraq back to the Islamic republic.

Oh, pass this on to Teddy, Kerry and the dems:
Hmong of Laos need Patriot Act waiver
There are a number of credible reports that the 2001 Patriot Act's broad definition of a "terrorist group" is preventing thousands of Hmong refugees from being granted asylum in the United States, despite the fact that companion legislation passed the same year sought to make it easier for our allies in the Vietnam War to migrate here. Many of the Hmong of Laos are still fighting and on the run from communist enemies. Others are just now surrendering, more than 30 years after Democrats in the US Congress cut off funds to them in 1975.

Hmmm... interesting comment (I know, the French):
You should know that the French nuclear carrier Charles de Gaulle and its task force had rendezvoused with the USS John C. Stennis and its task force in the Arabian Sea Wednesday for joint missions in the global war on terror. Its arrival raises to four the number of Western aircraft carriers cruising within striking distance of Iran, including the USS Eisenhower and USS Boxer. The Boxer led group is a Expeditionary Strike Group with the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit on board
The 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit (Special Operation Capable), or MEU(SOC), is designed to be the first on-scene in the event of crisis. It takes more than 2,100 men and women to form the 26th MEU (SOC) team.
The Charles de Gaulle is accompanied by French Task Force 473, which consists of five warships: the FNS Cassard guided missile destroyer, the FNS Tourville anti-submarine frigate, the FNS Dupleix destroyer adapted for escorting oil tankers and the FNS Marne, a command and supply vessel. Commander of the French task force is Rear Adm. Xavier Magne. Commander of the American flotilla is Rear Adm. Kevin Quinn.
A lot of hardware sailing there...
"The U.S. Government, by Executive Orders issued by the President as well as by Congressional legislation, prohibits most trade with Iran. Some sanctions were imposed on Iran because Tehran is a state sponsor of terrorism, others because of the nuclear proliferation issues, and still more for human rights violations, including infringement of religious freedom. The commercial relations that do exists between the two countries consist mainly of Iranian purchases of food and medical products and U.S. imports of carpets and food. Some sanctions were temporarily waived in the wake of the devastating Bam earthquake of December 2003. U.S. officials and relief workers actively assisted in relief and reconstruction efforts."
We froze billions of dollars of Iranian assets in the US. We don't have diplomatic relations with them. Here is a good overview on specific things the US has done vis-a-vis its relations with Iran since the hostage crisis. To say nothing has been done is simply not true.
