I doubt there will be a show trial. The UK is reacting the same way we did when the USS Pueblo was seized by the North Koreans and our recon plane was forced down in China not long after Bush took office. This will be handled diplomatically. It could be protracted depending on how much the Iranians want to milk it for propaganda purposes or what they want in return for their release. Eventually, a deal will be made with both sides claiming victory.

You would have better experience to know if this would happen, kabar. I'm on the outside, and it looks as though the US is willing to change the rules of engagement. Not violating international law, but in changing the way in which the situation is handled.

The problem is if it is handled diplomatically, won't that just encourage more of the same? Most terrorists see a lack of action as a sign of weakness.

Which would be a huge mistake. They have all ready been engaging in active in Iraq, they just handed us Jus Ad Bellem for war. Why do we keep dancing around these people. Pull the trigger on them all ready!
