Plenty of people and politicians have skeletons in their closets. In the case of Rudy Giuliani, that closet is a walk-in. Skeleton No. 1 his last police commissioner, Bernard Kerik, once nominated by President Bush to head the Department of Homeland Security. His close association with Giuliani became radioactive when Kerik pleaded guilty last June to a misdemeanor....accepting $165,000 in renovations on his Bronx apartment from a company attempting to land city contracts....He is still under investigation. Skeleton No. 2 Giuliani's first police commissioner, William Bratton, now LA's police chief..... Bratton's forced departure in 1996 began a debate that goes on even now: Does the credit Giuliani claims for the crime reduction really belong to Bratton? Skeleton No. 3 Giuliani's first wife...married in 1968.....annulled in 1982 on the grounds that they were second cousins once removed. Skeleton No. 4 Donna Hanover, his second wife. Their painfully public separation at the end of his time as mayor seriously damaged his image....
Andrew Giuliani recently.... said he had "a little problem" with his dad's current wife.....Judith Giuliani also revealed that, contrary to years of published reports, this is her third, not her second, marriage. AP

"Oh my God, I just remembered. I can't say 'fairy.' The gay lobby will go ballistic. I'm doomed."

IMO Rudy's long past personal peccadillos won't bother serious voters at all.
In fact, it will attract many many serious fiscal conservatives who are uncomfortable with the unsolveable social issues.

In fact that's all pretty weak stuff. Kerik? If the measure of a politician is that he can never hire someone who turns out to have a troubled past, then I guess we can forget Reagan (Justice O'Connor, anyone?). His wife being a distant cousin? Uh, so what? His second wife having "issues" in her past? You mean like, I dunno, our current first lady having accidentally killed someone?
How about we just deal with issues like serious people, and not childish personal attacks?

How about we just deal with issues like serious people, I have been.
It's the positions that Rudy has taken over the years that makes him a non-starter for me.
Gun control, abortion, and 'gay rights' spring to mind. Not to mention the fact that he's an authoritarian control freak.
Just say NO to Rudy.

He also was partners with Kerik in a security business and claims he didn't know about Kerik's mob ties. The Clintons also had a bunch of corrupt friends.

Turkeys and geese across America are offended at the basting Rudy is taking and at the inference that "his goose is cooked".

unsolveable social issues. Kindly name one of these unsolveable issues because I'm having trouble thinking of one.

Are you suggesting that he would go partners in a security company with someone he never vetted?

the unsolveable social issues. This nation fought a so-called civil war over an unsolvable "social issue." In 1728, I doubt anyone thought that the issue of Negro slavery would ignite such a conflagration.

In fact, it will attract many many serious fiscal conservatives who are uncomfortable with the unsolveable social issues.
It's a farce to think someone can be a "fiscal conservative" while at the same time be "socially liberal". A "fiscal conservative" is for holding if not reducing spending. A "social liberal" is for more government programs requiring an increase in spending. They are mutually exclusive. Either someone is a conservative or a socialist. There is no in between.

These are not exactly "skeletons" since the neagtives in Rudy's past has been widely publicized from the moment he whispered that he's thinking of running for the POTUS. You and your fellow Rudy bashers have made the tactical mistake of pounding on these issues way too early in the game. By the time the primaries roll around the shock value wlll have long passed and many people will simply roll their eyes and say "not this again," "who cares," "BFD," or "whatever."
