Bad Cop, Bad Cop (Broward Democrat Boss Flops At Comedy With Bad Anna Nicole Jokes)

Mitch Ceasar, don't quit your day job. In a March 1 appearance on NBC 6's morning show, South Florida Today, the chairman of the Broward County Democratic Party admitted to having aspirations toward a career in comedy. Jealous that the star of Judge Larry Seidlin is rising faster than his own, and maybe hoping that some Hollywood producers were still watching, Ceasar broke into a lounge act commentary on the Anna Nicole Smith case.

"What you really have is a white trash soap opera, but frankly that's being incredibly unfair to white trash," Ceasar quipped.

Rough start. Take another shot, chairman. What do you make of those reports that prior to her death Anna Nicole was seen staggering around the Hollywood Hard Rock casino, apparently in a drug-induced haze?

"I don't think it had anything to do with drugs. My explanations have to do with the fact she got an incredibly slanted breast implant."

Pretty crude stuff, Mitch. This material would make Andrew Dice Clay gag.

"The real issue has been about the disposition of Anna Nicole's body -- not... how many guys in North America have been with that body."

That crack offends on several levels -- mostly for its complete lack of originality or wit. Crowd's turning against you, Mitch. Speed it up.

"We know what it means when an attorney faints in South Florida. What does it mean?"

Mitch, no one's asking that question but you. No one wants to hear the answer. We've got to —

"Lunch!"

Fair enough. You're going out with a bang.

"South Florida continues to be the Bermuda Triangle of weirdness, but unlike the Bermuda Triangle, unfortunately, nobody disappears."

That's where you're wrong, Mitch. Give him the hook, boys.

Ten minutes later — after the instructional segment on growing orchids — host Tony Segreto slapped on a grave expression and stated: "We're getting a number of comments already about Mitch Ceasar, who we had on earlier." Indeed, Segreto had introduced Ceasar as a "good friend," joking that he was such a regular that the station gave him a 401(K). But Ceasar's comedic turn may have put the kibosh on all of that.

"We wanted to apologize for some of the comments (Ceasar) made," Segreto said. "We certainly did not expect the comments that he made today to come out the way they did. As it is now, NBC 6 is not planning to have him back on the show."

The crowd goes wild.

This is toooo funnie! You sort of have to know a bit about Mitch Ceasar to get the humor. Basically, Mitch really isn't all that enthusiastic about his job as the Chairman of the Broward County Democrat Party. He is really using that post to shmooze his way into something better. In this case he tried to make his way into a comedy act. Wouldn't have surprised me if he wanted one of the networks to give him a sitcom show.

Oops! I messed up the title. The real title is "Take Mitch Ceasar. Please."

Mitch Ceasar has been using his Rat boss job for years as a way to get himself other deals on the side. I don't even think he likes the poliltics of it. Give the guy a comedy show and he is gone.

That's some LAME material there.

I know this will come off as whining, but if a Republican FL official said these things we'd have Nancy Pelosi out there bitching about "anti-woman" comments and such in the state George Bush "stole" or something.

Yeah. But it was funnie that the studio guy had to apologize for Ceasar's lousy jokes. Actually I would like to see the video of this. His jokes were so bad that I think they are FUnnie in a campy way.

But it was funnie that the studio guy had to apologize for Ceasar's lousy jokes.

And how he first introduced him as a "friend" and then basically considered him some leper who snuck into the studio and got on the air somehow.

This reminds me of that pudgy dweeb who wore hunting clothes on Olberman after Cheney's incident--Dana Milbank. He looked like such a putz, and you could tell he expected everyone to roar with laughter.

Damn! I can't find the video of Ceasar's "comedy act." I really wanted to find it and then upload to YouTube.

I can only imagine the faux outrage and national attention had Mr. Ceasar been the the Chairman of the Broward County Republican Party.

This is what you get when you try to do TV comedy without a laugh track.

I had the...pleasure of meeting Mr Caesar at Einstein Bagels in Plantation. I was there with a friend having breakfast and he came in loud and obnoxious and he decided to intervene when he saw me reading the local SunSentinel which had an article about the war. He assumed that like most people in Broward I must be a Democrat and got louder making dogmatic liberal comments about Mr. Bush's "lies" hoping I would back him up. To his surprise, both my friend and I ended up refuting all his claims and humiliating him for his lack of knowledge in facts in front of the other patrons. He then felt the need for self-flagelation by saying he was the chairman of Broward County DemocRATic party and I ended the conversation by thanking him for confirming to me once again what his party stands for and their lack of ethics. He quietly got his coffee and walked out.

What a putz! There's something quite disgusting about him and it's not just his party affiliation, it's his personality which comes forth as abrasive and, to me as a woman, a complete turnoff! YUCK!

This is in such poor taste.

There are days, where even FR reaches new lows.
