Wow.

This is getting serious. The Brits are going to have to respond. If I were them, I would give Iran 36 hours to free their guys, or risk retaliation. If nothing happens, I would put one of those shiny diesel submarines of theirs at the bottom of the ocean. Not an all out invasion or a strike on Tehran or anything, but it will hurt them and it will let them know not to screw aroudn with us.

It is way past time to deal with Iran! We cannot win the peace in Iraq until we address Iran and we will never win the war on state-sponsored terror until they are dealt with.

This is starting to remind me of what Iran's client Org. The Hessies did to Israel! We know how that ended. Iran is now so emboldened that they are starting the same BS with the Brits, face to face so to speak.
They know that the west has lost it's will. They are smearing our face in it. Every terror Org. knows this. It is a great morale boost for Terror INC.. Iran will get whatever they want.
Sadly there are no Ball$ left anywhere in charge on our side!!

Where are the Presidents Theodore "Teddy" Roosevelt, Abraham Lincoln or Dwight David "Ike" Eisenhower in a situation like this? Even Presidents Richard Nixon, Harry Truman or Ronald Reagan wouldn't put up with this crap!
What would Prime Ministers Margaret Thatcher, Winston Churchill or Benjamin Disraeli do in this case? Where are the real men (or women, for that matter) these days? Where are the leaders who stand up dictators and rogue nations?

This is an obvious and deliberate provocation, so the best thing to do is this case is keep a cool and level head and keep all of our options open. The Iranians are not going to shoot the British prisoners, so we have some time to formulate a careful response. Let's see where this leads before we go off half-cocked.

It's a real shame we didn't let Imadinnerjacket into the U.S. Then this could have gotten VERY interesting indeed.

Pretty obviously they are manufacturing a counterweight to the 300 some odd Iran government officials captured in Iraq.

Difference: kind of odd to assert that soldiers in uniform are committing espionage.

The correct response to this would be to shut down all Iranian embassy facilities world wide, and to empound all their personnel, until exchange. Further, blockade of Iran's borders and shipping would be a good first step.

That is normally done after declaration of war.

We know how important Iran holds the rights of embassy personnel.

Oh, and after that declaration of war, the crooked Iranian government can be properly destroyed, the Azerbajian and Shiite Arab portions of Iran can be given their independence, perhaps to unite with Shiite Iraq, perhaps not.

No occupation needed. A few million persian casualties would excise this tumor.
