I thought the responses here from avowed Bush-haters was enlightening, and they ECHO, nearly verbatum, the words and slogans of the most radical of the leftist radicals..
IMO, WE HAVE LOST THE PROPOGANDA WAR, and are but inches away from losing the real one, no matter what our troops achieve on the battlefield... (And I'm mad as hell WE ever let it get this bad...)

Democrats hate America.
Democrats hate the all volunteer armed forces because they vote Republican.
Democrats believe like Osama Bin Laden that Iraq is a failure, Iraq is a quagmire, President Bush is a liar, and our troops are causing more terrorism.
Democrats in media lie every second of every day that they only find value in dead soldiers and soldier screw ups.
There are no heroes in the Iraq war.
The press and Democrats in Congress HATE the troops enough to bury the reality of their good and successful work.
Bin Laden was right. He has allies in American and they are Democrats.

It's sad that so many people have the FACTS utterly wrong, and this type of Propoganda has been allowed to flourish, and become the accepted truths..

The answer to the question in the title is easy. They consider themselves socialists before they consider themselves Americans. They are seeking to destroy democracy because it s anathema to their socialism.

To the diehard loudmouths Bush is enemy #1. Terrorist are probably far down the list behind Bush, global warming, the rich, homosexual agenda, abortion, and lots of other things that are clearly a bigger threat in the mind of the radical left than terrorism.
Amazingly, many of them seem to sympathize with the terrorist since they both hate the same thing.

The one thing that sticks is, they have successfully separated OIF from the War on Terror.
It's like separating D-Day or the Iwo Jima landings from WW2. OIF is the same thing: a campaign of battles that is part of a longer strategy.
I come home from war, to see my nation in ruins...

I appreciate you posting this but I would urge you not to be discouraged.
The four year anniversary of Iraq should have been a watershed moment for the anti war movement. I am not sure they had more people show up than the pro war side.
College campuses are not hotbeds of anti war sentiment as they were in the 1970s.
People are not buying the extremism of democrats or the Sheehans. The public is badly informed about Iraq-- there is no question.
Honestly, and I make some people mad here but the real problem is conservatives who think they have the luxury of nitpicking the President during war time. Wanting him to obliterate his opponents here and everywhere in ways no president has ever done.
The dems have struggled to put together votes on Iraq. This latest one was a squeaker in the House and is instantly hollow. It also provides a good sounding board for Bush to talk in a more tough fashion.

The ostensible reasons offered have absolutely nothing to do with it. Liberals are driven by childish envy and resentment. They are still smarting over the impeachment of Clinton, Florida 2000 and SBVFT. They wish the Iraqi army had "taught us a lesson". They are gratified by the "resistance" they inspired.
They just want to win. They hate America because they live here. They are resentful and ungrateful by nature, so they hate all the real Americans they know, and claim to love the "third world" people of their imaginings.
These people are so deranged that they actually believe that "9/11 was an inside job". They are beyond reason, and live in the solopistic world of their petty minds.

"-hey turdbreath, you've been dicking around over there for 4 yrs and making ZERO progress. This loss is all yours. Dems had nothing to do with it. (8 Positive Ratings)"
It makes no difference what reason they give. What they really mean is that they want a disaster each and every time GOP Presidents lead us to war.
The essential attitude toward the military is like the SAN FRANCISCO School board voting to dump the JROTC program. They are hostile and unappreciative.

Democrats also hate the notion that their ex Pres, Clinton, was vilified. They can't accept the responsiblity of this. That's probably one of the reasons they are fixated on getting GWB. They also hate the notion their other democratic Pres., was a loser from the beginning, Jimmy Carter.
Think about it, does anyone really believe they will offer us nothing but the same?
