My father was in VN from ‘62 as an adviser, then with MACV and finally came back stateside for good in ‘69. He was one of those “true believers” that the media likes to pretend didn’t exist. The closest I ever saw him get to actually crying was during our abandonment of the Vietnamese people that he love so. He would get choked up and leave the room whenever it was mentioned. I wish he was alive today so I could see his face as our brave warriors redeem our National Honor in Iraq. I know he would approve. Strike that. I know he DOES approve.
