The popular Kenneth Copeland of Kenneth Copeland Ministries lives in a large mansion in Texas. He recently asked his audience to help him spread the gospel by giving him $20 million to buy a new jet. Copeland promised that the plane "will never, ever be used as long as it is in our care, for anything other than what is becoming to you, Lord Jesus."

"... control God ..."
I just knew you would misinterpret what I said.
However, you can argue with God about it .. HE SAID - you reap what you sow!
You said it, not me. You folks have God under your thumb. You give a guy with a jet some money and God has to bless you.
It sounds to me like God isn't blessing you, you are blessing yourself. God is just the cashier.
If Copeland and Crouch were really being blessed by God, they wouldn't ask people for money. That would show unbelief in God's ability to provide if they relied on people for money.
Well .. if you don't want God's blessings .. that's YOUR CHOICE! God will comply!
Nobody said you were!
Are we only to believe what we want to believe from the DBM/ MSM..?? Known bash'ers of Christians. Known liars, fabricators, twister's of truth.
The article smacks of a dividing, envious, holier-than-thou drive-by hit-piece.
At what point in time will ABC look into the Mormon church and it's legacy wealth? At what point will they "expose" Scientology?
When will they "try" the Rev. Al Sharpton, Calipso Louie, and Je$$e Jack$on?
I could care less how much Kenneth Copeland spends, receives, gives away, tithes, etc...etc......if someone happens to think it's good "ground" what do you care? I think the Copelands are Christians...and I suppose they witness to more people in a week....than you and I do in 5 years. Is it or is that NOT the "Great Commission"?
If I want to horde my money, my time, my advice, my love....that's really none of your business either. And I couldn't care a wit what you do with yours.
Color me a bit wary of your signing up TODAY to post this by the very network ( ABC ) this site generally views with a VERY jaundiced eye.
Okay...rant off.
God can't be bribed. And He doesn't need a jet.
WHAT ..?? I've reduced you to pictures of bunnies!! I'm so sorry .. LOL!!
"... He doesn't need a jet ..."
Hmmmm ..?? Then why didn't HE create us with wings ..??
And .. if you thought I even intimated that I believed God can be bribed .. YOU HAVE NOT READ WHAT I WROTE .. or you have purposely misinterpreted what I said.
Well .. if I'm so incoherent .. why are you so upset ..??
I'm not upset at you in the least. Are you upset with me? Do you not have a sense of humor?
I value that you have a point of view and offer that I have another.
I'd like to engage with you in a meaningful discussion of the topic. Are you up for that?
I believe the original post had to do with Kenneth Copeland of Kenneth Copeland Ministries asking his audience to help him spread the gospel by giving him $20 million to buy a new jet. Copeland promised that the plane "will never, ever be used as long as it is in our care, for anything other than what is becoming to you, Lord Jesus."
I believe you came to his defense and said you also defend Joyce Myers.
I submit they are of the same mold of most of all the other televangelists in that they produce nothing more than infomercials shilling for money that, and while some of the proceeds may go to ministries and charitable causes, too much of it goes to providing themselves with a lavish lifestyle not in keeping with what I understand to be in keeping with the teachings of their proclaimed religion.
My question to you is of all the dollars donated to Kenneth Copeland Ministries or Joyce Myers, how much of every dollar goes to real ministry and charity and how much goes to producing their TV show and other overhead expenses and how much of that overhead pays for the Copelands or Myers expenses such as homes, luxury cars, jets, etc.? Aside from spreading the word (and asking for money from viewers) through the TV shows, just what does Kenneth Copeland Ministries or Joyce Myers do? Do they actually run any churches, schools, provide food and shelter to the needy?
If I donate one dollar how is that dollar spent?
yes, I agree the information is three years out of date, but seriously, I don't think any of these people have changed their stripes in 3 years. Call me psychic, once they get rolling like this with multimillion dollar homes, and private jets, they're not going to switch to sackcloth. That would require a change of heart and a relationship with Jesus, which is not what these people have. Sad but true. There is no greater sin than misrepresenting God when youc all yourslef a believer. It's what got Moses killed, and his offense was NOWHERE this serious. moses was a fine man.
"Because sowing seed is a principle in the Bible that most people have chosen to forget. GOD always says, if you, then I. If you will give your money in support of another man's ministry, GOD will reward you. "
That would be a true statement if God had anything to do with these people. The Bible teaches that if a man doesn't work, then he shouldn't eat. There is no room for freeloaders in God's plan.
I have seen Paul and Co. beg for money, telling folks watching at home that "even if you can't afford $20 or 15$ send it anyway, find a way!"
These con men beg people that need that $20 to buy groceries to feed their families or help pay the utilities. Poor people, not welfare abusers but actual poor people that have no income to spare. Disgusting.
Also, where in the Bible does it ever talk about "seed money" or explain that sowing seed equates to sending money? I have not read the Bible cover to cover so I may have missed it. But, the parts I have read equate "sowing a seed" to just talking to someone about God or proselytizing.
The parable of the sower explained:
19When any one heareth the Word of the Kingdom and understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he that received seed by the wayside.
20But he that received the seed into stony places, the same is he that heareth the Word and at once with joy receiveth it;
21yet hath he not root in himself, but endureth for a while. For when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the Word, by and by he loses faith.
22He also that received the seed among the thorns is he that heareth the Word; and the cares of this world and the deceitfulness of riches choke the Word, and he becometh unfruitful.
23But he that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the Word and understandeth it; who also beareth fruit and bringeth forth, some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty."
Seed=planting a seed of a thought about God in someone's mind and heart. Seed does not=money.
Safe to say your not a big fan of Rod Parsley then.
"And .. if a man is hungry, feed him, and if he is naked, clothe him.
Now .. can any of you self-righteous and holier than thou people [and you know who you are] tell me where you're going to get the MONEY to obey that command ..??
Before you can sow a seed of faith .. sometimes it requires you to sow a seed of SUBSTANCE - meaning food and clothing and a clean bed to sleep in.
You cannot help people in need if you are in need of help!
I rest my case!!
Well, you obviously aren't doing enough to please God. Otherwise he would have blessed you wit a jet by now.
Are you contending that people in the ministry "don't work".
Here is the first lesson my Pastor taught me in Bible School .. HOW DO YOU SPELL MINISTRY .. W O R K
It bothers me that people are so trigger happy over the word "televangelist". I mean .. you'd think people had been bilked out of thousands of dollars or something the way they go on and on.
And .. what are people doing sitting home watching this garbage when they should be joined to a church and helping their Pastor DO THE WORK OF THE MINISTRY.
Okay .. I'm done! This is a pointless argument. You hate the Copelands and anybody else on TV - whoopie! I'm sure God has fallen off His throne by now.
