The tools and the way the mechanics attached themselves to their purpose echoed a universal dilemma — ought one to order his life in order to live it or ought he let things fall where they may but never lose sight of the need to remember to gather them back up when the task at hand presents itself; but moreover, through the narrative’s detail on the tools of life is the reliance on their worth and the worth of their most perfect use.
At the end of course, we find that it is not the tools at all that count but what it is we do with them and does all the effort have that assumed worth.
Some things can’t be fixed and the realization of this alone allows the reader to share the writer’s disappoinment that without an essential value or a relentless attempt to achieve such that often life leaves but the tools behind.
The author’s fixation was on the search for quality, the sheer definition of the word and what it means and the conclusion was that if it were to be found, it wouldn’t be in the search but in the acceptance of its mystery and eventual mastery.
No offense intended; just an observation.
I have neither posted on this thread nor, as far as I can ascertain, ever corresponded with you in any way. Yet, completely out of the blue you address to me an "observation" (lots of "ob" words here--do you have "Obama on your mind?), including a word which does not exist to obfuscate it even further. Moreover, you failed to provide a reasonable explanation when queried.
Obviously, I could simply suggest that you sober up, or otherwise obtain sensibility, but instead I will simply "obsolve you (I can invent words, too) and obsequiously wish you well in your future endeavors.
The post to which I was moved to comment was
“Righters’ or Writers’ Club? Apparently, you “creative folks” spell creatively, too.”
The poster to which you posted commented that “Righters” was a simple play on words and you then used the word ‘obtuse’ as an invective rather than a self-description.
I then made my original comment as a mere two cent’s worth and now I have you all over me like a pissed-off yellow jacket and I don’t think you have enough of a sense of humor to even recognize the intent of this thread in the first place.
If I kicked your nest, it was purely by accident, would you please crawl back into your hole and we then can be done with this?
As I said, I wish you well.
Nightmares of Command (science fiction)
Age of Tribalism (kind of an attack on leftwing PC garbage hard to explain but good)
I will check it out!
a space western,
a historical-type fiction,
a future-tense story about economic collapse,
all partials
