As a scientist, I find the current strategy of the global warming crusade to be fascinating. Particularly because I am a scientist, I also find it insulting. Everyone should find it very disturbing.
I am referring to the fact that the global warming issue is now regarded as a "moral" matter by its advocates. None other than The High Priest of Global Warming (Al Gore) has decreed it as such. Of course, there is some obvious humor in this because the liberals will also tell you that you "cannot legislate morality". Well, it does not take complicated logic to conclude that if global warming is indeed a moral matter and if it is true that you cannot legislate morality, then it should hold that you cannot legislate global warming.
But making funny distracts us from a deeper concern that should worry anyone who wants to see the truth remain relevant in the matters that face our society. To see this deeper danger, let us forget about global warming for just a moment and consider morality in very general terms.
There are numerous ways to define morality, but one that is particularly helpful here is to regard morality as the "lens" through which one views the facts. Morality should not be used to simply deny the facts; and people who really understand morality do not use it that way. Rather, they use morality to put the facts in a proper context. Morality tells them "what to make of the facts".

How can there be a carbon indulgence market if it's not a moral issue?
Follow the money.
Why? Because the Left have no actual moral foundation, yet they know that most people do. By declaring Global WarmingTM to be a Moral Matter, they hope to scoop up support from some sheep who aren't cynical enough about the Legacy Media and leftist politicos.
The left isn't really sure what morality is, but they know it drives the decisions of many people. They'd really like to tap into that power.
Evidence I have seen regarding Global Warming:
1) It's happening, period.
2) Likely catalyst of Global Warming is the sun and solar cycle activities and we happen to be in one.
3) Man may indeed have accelerated the process, but we should be more concerned about increased cancer from pollution we breathe in and stopping carbon emmissions from that stand point.
4) Global warming will harm the economy, but as far as man is concerned over the long-haul, a warmer planet spurs population growth of all species.
I am concerned that man is even fathoming methods to prevent the next global warming cycle now. We are just learning how the patterns of global warming, weather and our solar system all inter-relate. We are hundreds of years away from being morally and technical advanced as a species to even attempt to disupt a process that has occurred for 2 billion years.
I didn't know that CO2 cause cancer. My god I'll get cancer because I exhale CO2. I got to stop breathing.
