Perhaps it is something from an earlier generation. I'm not Jewish enough to know. This woman died recently in her 80's. She was basically an honorary relative of mine as well as a professional person and I trust her word completely.

I am from an earlier generation, but if you say so, a thing is what it is. I just think the generalization of Jewish men is a little iffy at best.

Unlike Islam, Judaism teaches from the Torah and from Mishna and Gemara respect, even for gentiles, and women.

The Koran is a hideously framed piece of desert tribal law with absolutely no concept of anything but hatred and revenge and death for "other than Moslems."

But, you know your friend and this could have happened, but she may have had her experience colored by the prevailing prejudices of the day. There were many.

I am not Jewish, but growing up in NYC you learn about most faiths and ethnicities.
