Well, if you think he makes a weak candidate then he should be no problem for one of the RINOs to take on. If he is one to "fold", then I am sure Rudy or Romney will destroy him in the debates. Personally, I don't see him folding in a Republican debate. We shall see.

My bet is that if he announces, he will lead the Republican field shortly thereafter and will go on to win the Presidency. He is the only Republican running that can garner support from the full spectrum of Republicans while also capturing independents and moderates. He has far fewer negatives that Rudy or Romney while having more positives.

My only concern at this point is that he may not run. I am confident that if he does run, the nomination is his. Like I said, we shall see.

Actually, I strongly suspect that Thompson is making noises about getting into the race to assist his buddy John McCain.

His media blitz is sucking all the conservativce oxygen out to the campaign for any other prospective conservative candidate.

Thompson won't be able to raise enough money to mount a credible campaign.
