Don't be worried about bored suburbanites who bitch on MySpace about how hard life is in a million dollar house with a Mexican nanny and gardener and that "being real" means spending $300 to dress like a derelict. It's not that different from the same infatuation the Baby Boomer hippies had with Indians when the renamed themselves Rainbow Star and Moonsong and adopted Birkenstocks as their official footwear. It'll pass.
Come on! This (lack of) style has been going for 15 years. Way past normal fads. Looks like it's just plain become a normal part of the culture.
I've given up hope that this garbage-looking "fad" will pass. It is beyond fad. It is a way of life.
God help my children, if I ever have any. So glad I missed the bullet of being in this "fad" group.
