I'm afraid the Presidency doesn't have the power to avoid this confrontation.

I have been gnashing my teeth for a year wondering where the arrests were for blatant security violations. Seeing nothing (on the surface) happening is maddening, I hope you are right that this is moving toward a just ending.

This is just another Scooter Libby sideshow. There was no crime. THERE WAS NO CRIME. However the Dems grilled Gonzales hoping for something else to go after. Apparently the Dems think Gonzales was not forthcoming about conversations and emails with the White House, in which the firings of the attorneys may have been mentioned.

But yet, I say again, THERE WAS NO CRIME. Just as there was no "outing" of a "covert CIA operative". The Dems are going to try someone and disgrace someone. Notice that they keep going after Rove, they hate him like Darth Vader. They will continue to subpoena and question Rove until he makes some mistake or fails to remember, then they will demand Rove be fired. Then on to Cheney, and ultimately Bush.
