I find this to be frightening and I take my daughter to school every day and pick her up. Her private school doesn't pick up kids - and I'm frightened for her friends.

It is a frightening idea. Lenin said the purpose of terror is to terrorize. Obviously, one of the effects of Beslan is that it does just that.
