As Mark Steyn points out about the Islamists, they are not afraid to tangle with the Russians or the Israelis, why would they be afraid of the French or other Europeans?
Of course, we should add why would they be afraid to tangle with the "peace now at any price" Democrats who hate and fear Bush more than our enemies.

You got that right. And of course the Russians don't have groups like the ACLU do deal with, which wants to make the U.S. act like wussies.
