Howie Carr live thread. MA Senate Pres. Bob Travaglini expected to resign tomorrow and they're expected to replace him with the first female Senate Pres. in Commonwealth history, Therese Murray. Jon Keller on WBZ-TV said there are differences between Bobby Trav and Murray. Trav? Willing to let the people vote on gay marriage. Murray: a gay marriage supporter who might not be as likely to let the people vote; Murray could be more pro-tax..
Globe: "Travaglini's long-anticipated departure will pave the way for one of his top lieutenants, Therese Murray, to become the new Senate president and the first woman to lead either chamber of the Massachusetts Legislature.
"Murray, a Plymouth Democrat who has used her position as leader of the Senate Ways and Means Committee to advocate for human service programs and liberal social issues, is expected to be elected president during a hastily arranged transfer of power at tomorrow's Senate session."

Howdy!
Gee, more state taxes, what a surprise! Who's gonna be left to pay them?
"Who's gonna be left to pay them?"
Well, there are many people who live in NH, RI, and ME that commute to MA to work every day and we pay taxes.... Of course, that will start to decline as more people work from home and if NH institutes an income tax on people who work out of state...
Actually, I was thinking that more businesses will move out of state because they will be unable to afford cost of taxes, employee taxes, etc., etc., etc. Or more precisely, the multi-state corporations will begin to hire fewer and fewer people in Massachusetts in favor of other, more "employer friendly" states.
Why's Travaglini resigning? Doesn't weigh enough? Can work a day each at Massport and UMass to collect additional pensions, then on to WRKO to displace either Howie or Rush?
Going to a job that pays maybe half a million a yr rather than 90k
15 mill?
close enough for gov't work
