They appear to be good parents. Maybe everyone should respect their decision to medicate and mind their own business.

I made an agonizing decision to medicate my son after 5 years of resisting. From one year to the next, he went from a child who hated reading to being the top reader in the school. He was in special ed for a writing disability, and is now in four advanced placement classes. It is pretty arrogant for people to denigrate someone else's decisions.

I couldn't have said it better Mom. The parent who doesn't have to make a difficult decision regarding their child is lucky - or uninvolved/uncaring. These people who can pass judgment on such limited knowledge of the situation never cease to amaze me. I wish I could live life so perfectly.

Well are all different for a reason. We have had experience in our family with Ritalin that was not good. I do not believe in drugs for children. Parents and teachers have the obligation to stimulate children to excel. Excelling under the influence of drugs will cause a crash at some time.
